R290 – Environmentally-friendly & Energy Saving
Haier introduces its new high temperature R290 heating range, which includes the all new Super Aqua A2W Monobloc, All-In-One, Hydrosplit and Heat Pump Water Heaters.
The Haier air to water heat pump is an environmentally friendly alternative compared to conventional oil and gas boilers. Our A2W solutions uses the outside air to create free renewable energy which is then used as heat source for space heating and hot water. This provides an energy efficient and environmentally-friendly solution which substantially reduces energy consumption, running cost and CO2 emissions in heating.
The system draws energy from the outside air to create a high efficiency solution for your needs, with efficiencies of over 3:1 for power input. By utilising the low GWP R290 refrigerant, our units can achieve market leading water temperatures, upto 80⁰C leaving water temperature for the Super Aqua Heat Pump range and 65 ⁰C for the M7 & M8 Heat Pump Water Heaters.
With a GWP of only 3, R290 is the environmentally friendly alternative to other refrigerants emphasising Haier’s commitment to developing solutions for a more sustainable future.
The use of a full DC inverter twin rotary compressor generates energy saving as it has a smaller size and higher efficiency.

R290 Series features
Energy Efficient
Our solutions are designed to be energy efficient, enabling to significantly reduce costs and maintain optimal performance. By integrating advanced technology, our systems contribute to a more sustainable environment.
Anti-Freezing
The outdoor units will auto heat to 15°C when the ambient temperature reaches below 2°C and the water temperature is below 7°C.
R290
By using R290, a serious alternative to high GWP gases, the new range offers promising natural and non-toxic properties with reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Dual Power Heating
The dual power heating mode* of air & electric energy can be started at the same time to improve heating efficiency in case of low temperature or urgent need of a large amount of hot water, achieving fast heating in a short time. *Available on the HPWH series
80°C Hot Water
High leaving water temperature of 80°C is guaranteed without using a backup heater when the outdoor temperature is higher than -15°C.
Smart Connection
The hOn app enables to take control of all the Haier appliances in your Smart Home from your smartphone or tablet. The app allows the management of all the basic functions of the units.
Why Choose the Monobloc?
The Monobloc range is ideally suited for install by traditional plumbers as the refrigerant circuit is sealed and the
pipework from the outdoor to indoor carries only water.
Why Choose the Split?
The application of a split system allows greater flexibility in the location of the outdoor unit due to the longer pipe
lengths available on the smaller diameter pipes.
R290 Monobloc
R290 offers a future for sustainable heating within the heat pump sector. With the ability to achieve higher temperatures, this refrigerant is suitable for the UK and EU markets. R290 can achieve high efficiency levels with A+++ energy ratings across the Haier Heat Pump range. Higher efficiency leads to lower costs for businesses and consumers. R290’s excellent heat transfer properties, non-toxic properties, and compatibility with many existing refrigeration systems make it an attractive solution.

R290 Hydro Split
The new Hydrosplit Heat Pump is available from 4kW – 16kW sizes. With market leading A+++/A+++ performances, the new Hydro Split Heat Pump offers a wide Operating Range, with the ability to run normally even at -28°C.
Hydrosplit heat pumps are a form of monobloc, as the refrigerant circuit is contained within the outdoor unit. Hydrosplit units also incorporate an indoor unit which manages the building’s hydraulic heating system. As all the components such as pump, three-way valve, expansion vessel, control unit and electric flow and back-up heaters are contained within the indoor unit, there is no need to install these separately with a hydrosplit.
R290 All-In-One
The New R290 All-in-One A2W Heat Pump, with integrated storage for instantaneous supply of domestic hot water, available from 4kW – 16kW sizes. The compact 590mm x 590mm design is easy to install especially when space is limited. The indoor unit has an intuitive full colour display integrated touch controller, with multiple function settings. The indoor unit is complete with a 200L water tank, a stainless-steel heat exchanger for DHW production and a 24L expansion tank.
The range provides A+++ market leading energy efficiencies as well as 80⁰C high leaving water temperatures.
Wide Application
The Super Aqua Monobloc ranges from 4kW to 16kW, and is suitable for both residential and and small to medium sized commercial applications. Smaller capacity units can be applied to new build residential buildings with their improved insulation whilst the medium-capacity system can be applied to refurbishments.
Super Aqua’s high capacity system is suitable for installation in small to medium sized commercial applications, such as Café’s, restaurant, dental practices and hair salons.
Flexible Performance & Hybrid connection
When the outdoor ambient temperature is too low the leaving water temperature cannot meet the set temperature. In this instance the inbuilt electric ‘back up heater’ is designed to meet the required exit water temperature.
Super Aqua solutions can integrate backup energies like gas boilers or solar thermal and use them in the most efficient way possible. For example, in the bivalent connection mode the system will choose gas boiler under -10º ambient temperature and change over to air-to-water energy when temperature rises above that point, reaching maximum efficiency for your system. When hybrid connection is turned off, both boiler and heat pump conduct automatic control.
Safe Performance
Sterilisation mode
With the sterilisation mode is activated, elimination of harmful bacteria is achieved by heating to 70ºC the tank’s water. This can be programmed weekly or scheduled for set periods.
Anti-freeze
The anti-freeze program protects hydraulic parts from damage, the water pump will turn on when the water temperature drops below 5ºC. When the water temperature is below 5ºC for more than 10 minutes, the heat pump is turned on to protect the system.
Anti-rust water pump
The water pump runs for 60 seconds when inactive for more than 24 hours. This ensures that water is not stationary for extended periods of time which reduces the risk of rusting.
Smart Grid compatibility
Modern energy companies integrate in their power grids Smart Grid functions. This system sends a signal to all the connected devices that carries information on the energy cost real time. Equipment compatible with this feature can then adjust their behaviour to optimise savings.
